The Challenge this week is to rate my own “well-being” in a physical, spiritual and psychological capacity. The scale is 1-10
Physical wellbeing: My physical wellbeing I rate the scale as a 6 because I have been really sick and was diagnosed with COPD in August, and in September I got pheunmonia which i still fully havent recovered.
Goal: To get my COPD under control which I have stopped smoking.
Spiritual well-being: My spiritual well-being I rate that a 8 because I feel that I am connected to a higher power.
Goal: Just continue praying by giving me the strenght to continue another day.
Psychological well-being: My psychological well-being i rate this as a 5 and still needs work because yes I do get stressed out very easliy especially when nothing seems to go right for me.
Goal: Do not let stuff get me down, and patience especially with my sickness For the stress I have to just take things as they are and not to look back.
The activities or exercise that I can implement in mylife to assist in moving toward each goal? The activities and exercise that I can implement in my life to move towards to each goal would be to do what the doctors asked me of and just take a step back and say Hey you can do anything dont let noone or anything get you down. Also exercising with my COPD I can do alittle right now but i force myself a little harder each day.
The relaxation exercise The Crime of the Century Relaxation Exercise. The relaxation exercise of The Crime of the Century really made me tired. I actually nodded off there for a second. My fiance had to say Hey Rachel you falling asleep. That guy that was talking has a very soothing voice which puts people to sleep. I thank god my fiance isn't like that.. LOL
Rachel,
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the pheunmonia and COPD. I had pheunmonia three years ago and it is not fun. It prevented me from having my much needed first hip surgery for two months. Quitting smoking is a big step though. I commend you for taking that step. I say go easy on yourself. Take small steps and go from there. Exercise will eventually make you feel better as your body becomes stronger.
I fell asleep towards the end. But I always tend to fall asleep during a meditation or relaxation. I am more used to a woman's voice during this type of relaxation.
Be well, Sarajane
Rachel, first I have to say great job quitting smoking! I know that is no easy task. This seems to be a great time for you to be taking this class and I bet you will benefit greatly for the weekly assignments. Some meditations are better than others so maybe you could take a look on youtube :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel, good post! You have some very achievable goals. I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis of COPD. You do seem to have a positive outlook about it, though, which is good! I know it must be hard to exercise, but going just a little further each day is an achieved goal in itself, so way to go! I am glad to hear that you have a pretty high spiritual being. I used to be much more spiritual, but I am not so much anymore. I am going to try to go to church more. I also "sweat the small stuff". It is hard to not worry about even the little things, so this will be one I struggle with. Good job!
ReplyDeleteRachel,
ReplyDeleteI certainly hope that things have done nothing but gotten better. Hopefully now that we have practiced more exerices in the class you have found some that do not put you to sleep. All you can do is take it day by day. Quitting smoking is a dificult task, as I am former smoker as well. I feel as though I could start again at any given time, but have to consciously decide not to.
